Donatella Versace has put her stamp on a great number of things. What’s the haps now? Watches, or shall we say, timepieces. Versace’s DV One is the top of the line timepiece you have always dreamed of, whether you knew it or not.
First of all, the whole thing is protected by, well, starch. It sounds weird but it works. These things are indestructible. The dial details are in red enamel and the strap is, as you can see, deep purple. The entire thing screams elegance. The theme of the watch was unsurprisingly culled by the winter/fall Versace collection.
The production will be limited to only 99 timepieces with a special “blue emerald” version only available via special order. No prices have been announced but guess what? It’ll be a lot.
So you like watersports. You may as well get the best of the best to be your vehicle, otherwise you may just end up “treading water.” Along these lines, then, let me introduce you to Sea-Doo’s brand new ace in the hole: The RXP-X 260. This watercraft will make a Neptune out of any old hack.
The Sea-Doo RXP-X 260 is here to make your watersportin’ dreams come true. Notice how the entire design hinges on the angle. That means it is great for racing and similar events. Two can ride on the unit’s 1503 XHO Rotax® 4-TEC® engine.
It won’t be available until 2012 and no official price has been announced yet. However, given the specs, one could assume it is going to cost you more than a few white pearls.
True audiophiles are always looking for the latest, greatest thing, the new invention that will finally make music sound “real.” Well, look no further than concrete. Wait, concrete?!
Yes, concrete. Israeli designer Shmuel Linski has fashioned this pair of concrete speakers, which take audiophile-dom to a whole new level. Concrete has never been known for it’s aural properties, but the designer has fixed this problem by making sure the driver and port are linked together. The whole thing is not lined with any sound absorbent material, being as how the concrete is enough. The end of result? A surprisingly fine sounding pair of speakers that is sure to be a hot topic of conversation at your next dinner party.
The price hasn’t been announced yet. Rest assured, though, if they are half as expensive as they are heavy then your bank account is in for a treat. They weigh 56kg a pair.
We all want the best in life. So why let our lovely new iPads lay around in just any old case? Dolce & Gabbana are saying heck no to that and have released the definitive in luxury iPad cases. Cool!
This opulent and dazzling iPad case certainly is a winner in the looks department. It’s made of shimmery sequins and authentic black leather. Of course, the entire thing was constructed in Italy. Where else could it have been fashioned?
One can tell, though, that this case has been made with women in mind. Sorry guys. Maybe next time the fashion house will releases a more manly design. Until then, get to it ladies! Oh yeah, it’ll cost you $1,175. Luxury does not come cheap.
Yowza. This ultra-rare 1952 Ferarri 340 is about to go up for auction in California. It’s all set to go down later this year. You had better get your money saved now. I have a feeling this is going to go for quite a few pretty pennies.
This bad boy was originally built as a racer, partaking in several notable races in the 1950s. It cost just $14,000 back then. Estimates put the current worth as somewhere in the millions.
Here is what the Chairman of RM Auctions Rob Myers has to say about the vehicle:
“0226AT is arguably one of the premier collector cars ever built by Ferrari. Boasting a spectacular pedigree that includes such racing greats as Alberto Ascari, Carroll Shelby and Jack McAfee, it represents an important chapter in Ferrari’s early competition history, add to that its incredible rarity – one of just three built – and its matching-numbers originality, and you have a terrific car deserving of close inspection.”
Good luck everybody!
Steinway may be best known for their magnificent pianos and other instruments, that doesn’t mean the company doesn’t make a mean speaker set. Their new S-Series speakers are quite astounding, offering up a new dimension of sound.
Wait, what’s that? A new dimension? Surely the sound doesn’t travel from an parallel universe right? Ok, you got me there. They are compact and quite nice, though. The two varieties in the S-series include the S-15 & S-210. The S-15 is a two-way speaker with a frequency response between 120 Hz – 22 kHz and peak power capacity of 600 W of sound along with a single channel amplifier needed for optimum effects. Due to its compact size of 10.2 inches in length, 7.8 inches in width and a depth of 3.1 inches, it can be placed perfectly well on a bookshelf, fixed on the wall or even made to stand on the floor with appropriate support. On the other hand, the S-210 is a one-way boundary woofer with a frequency response of 25-500 Hz and has the peak power capacity of 800 W of sound.
The pricing ranges between around $22,000 and $45,000 depending on what version you want and what knickknacks you want applied to the final purchase. Just imagine these bad boys sitting atop your bookshelf, filling your entire home with sweet, wondrous music. Ah, the plentiful bounties of hearth and home.
TAG Heuer makes some great watches. They also make smartphones. Some of these smartphones are even adorned with animal leather. Such is the case with the company’s new Link line of smartphones. They come packed in your choice of lizard leather, alligator leather or calfskin(That’s cow leather, for the layman.)
They aren’t just about killing animals, though. These phones pack quite a wallop in the features department. First of all, they are nearly waterproof, thanks to all of that disgusting leather. Everything about this phone screams durability. Go ahead. Try dropping one from a third story building. We dare you. Odds are it will be just fine.
This phone is also equipped with a 16 million color touchscreen, 256 MB of RAM, and an 8 GB memory card. Not bad at all. Android 2.2 is the OS of choice, which makes sense. It certainly isn’t going to be Windows 7.
All of that leather is going to set you back. The Link costs around $6750, depending on what customization options you go for.
Vertu know their way around luxury handsets, that is for sure. So what has the company been up to nowadays? They have been hard at work putting the finishing touches on their carbon-fiber smartphone, the Vertu Constellation. This thing is a marvel of design and functionality.
The keypad and screen feature sapphire and each key is individually made and installed. Those aforementioned keys are also crafted from sapphire crystal. So much sapphire I can barely stand it! In a good way, of course.
On the functionality front, the Constellation shines brighter than, well, a constellation. The ringtones were designed by the London Orchestra and Benjamin Wallfisch. The phone also features a unique in-built dual time-zone clock which displays the time for multiple locations at the same time. Vertu will also keep all of your sensitive data safe on the cloud, should you ever lose your phone in a drunken brawl.
The phone is available now.

The current price of these beauties are just $85,000, which considering the luxury it represents, isn’t half bad.
French electronics manufacturer Triangle knows that there are high-end speakers, and then there are high-end speakers. To that end, the company has prepped the Magellan Cello speakers.
These speakers were handcrafted in France, and offer up a purity of sound that rivals hearing something live. This comes with a specially designed technology called the SPEC system, which removes unwanted vibrations. It ensures every nook and cranny of your listening room will be filled with sweet, sweet tunes.
This of course comes at a price. A pair of these magnificent speakers will set you back almost $650,000. You get what you pay for though, right?
