The thing is sleek and beautiful. It features a transparant screen and a hidden keypad that reveals itself only when in use. A member of the Sony Ericsson PR team has this to say about the unit:
“The company’s designers aimed to sculpt an object of design that reflected the purity of water and a sense of calmness when not in use.”
The phone costs around $874 USD. Watch below for a video of the phone in action:
The world of racing and high-end phone technology collide with the new Grand Monaco LE. Russian company Gresso has patterened the phone after all things Formula 1. Formula 1, for the uninitiated, is like Nascar but with better music and slightly less product placement. The phones are adorned with genuine Italian leather and the case is made from titanium and a high-tech ceramic coating. The surface is scratchproof due to more titanium and a polished steel sheet. The phone features a hand-polished 42K sapphire crystal that acts as the frame for the display. The phone also includes a 2-megapixel camera, Wap/GPRS/Bluetooth/SMS/MMS/email/EDGE, and Java. It’s available now at showrooms for the reasonable, compared to other luxury phones, price of $1,800.
There once was a luxury brand named Christian Dior. This brand, never content to rest on it’s laurels, released a phone that made folks the world over coo and gasp with glee. However, the luxury brand soon grew bored. Another luxury phone was needed to sate the public. Actually scratch that. Make it two luxury phones. Well, Christian Dior has delivered.
Dior has readied it’s second generation of luxury phones, named Zelie and Zenaide. These phones are gold plated and encrusted with sapphire crystals. Don’t worry. It’s not just sapphire crystals. That’d be so gauche. Dior also throws some diamonds into the mix.
The only difference between the two is Zelie’s casing has a red hue and Zenaide’s is white. They are available now through special order only, ranging from $7,900 to $13,400.
They say diamonds are a girl’s best friend, so this new Motorola high-end phone makes perfect sense. The Motorola Aura Diamond Edition is set to become the new “must have” luxury phone on the block. The unit is plated with 18 carat gold and includes 34 diamonds embedded along the circular display. To quote Paris Hilton, this thing is hot.
In addition to looking like something a famous jewel thief would swap, it also features the usual communication bells and whistles: quad-band GSM/EDGE connectivity, CrystalTalk technology, stereo Bluetooth, music and video playback support, a 2-megapixel camera and 2GB of internal memory. Oddly, it doesn’t feature 3G connectivity. Diamonds are forever, and this phone can be yours for $5,700.
Swiss-based luxury brand TAG Heure stopped dealing exclusively in watches quite some time ago. So it should come as no surprise that their new baby is a luxury handset. However, nobody was expecting it to be an homage to all things Lamborghini.
The forthcoming TAG Heuer MERIDIIST Automobili Lamborghini luxury phone is just that. The body of the phone is housed in titanium carbide coated stainless steel, as is it’s vehicular older brother. Also ,the battery cover is printed with the famed signature that’s found on the Lamborghini Murcielago LP640 V12 engine block. The phone boasts 28 hours of standby time on one charge, as well as 7 hours of talk time. It also has a 2-megapixel camera, music playback, 2GB, USB compatibility, 2 LCD screens, a web browser and a built-in modem. The unit will be available sometime in November, with a suggested cost of $7,500.
As an aside, it should be noted, the Meridiist will not go faster than other phones. Not even on the Autobahn.
Mobiado continues to plunge head first into the world of luxury handsets with the new 105GMT series. The company has released two new handsets, the 105GMT Stealth and the 105GMT Antique. Both units were inspired by military stealth aircraft, featuring aluminum and sapphire crafting. The Stealth unit features aircraft aluminum and anodized black and sapphire crystal buttons, which are hand painted in black. The Antique model is crafted in tue traditional Eurpoean style, featuring rose gold, diamond, sapphire crystal, and Cocobolo hardwood. Yeah, these things look damned cool.
The 105GMT Stealth and Antique also throw a watch into the mix. This watch features a unique dual mechanical movement mechanism, which allows for the user to set two international time zones. Each Swiss gold-plated mechanical watch movement contains 25 jeweled bearings, with a self-winding automatic mechanism. Kind of like having a really expensive, really cool, pocket watch in addition to a phone.
Pricing has yet to be determined although the company did note there would only be 117 combined units manufactured.
Canadian high-end phone manufacturer Mobiado is readying their flagship phone, the 350 Pioneer. This luxury-phone is actually crafted from spacecraft aluminum and features a sapphire crystal inlay. It also comes equipped with the usual bells and whistles: Multimedia capabilities, a 3.2 megapixel camera, a 2.36″ 16 million colors display, integrated GPS, and Bluetooth and micro USB connectivity. It can also make phone calls. They are only making 37 of these beasts, to signify the number of years the Pioneer has been in space. A pricepoint has yet to be established.
